‘Frank McGuinness’s electrifying new play’

The Observer

Set during the Second World War in the small town of Buncrana in Donegal, the kitchen of a small house, presided over by the eponymous Dolly West, is a meeting place where two American G.I’s, a British Army Captain and the fiercely nationalistic West family share meals and talk of war. Not only of the war outside but of the battles inside over gender, identity, sexuality and nationality.
